Launchy is a small program designed with aesthetics in mind, It's purpose is to replace your start menu, Desktop Icons and even windows explorer. Launchy indexes all the programs on your system, indexes your files and folders and even your bookmarks. This allows you to launch your programs or files with a few key pushes.

When you have started Launchy, it will reside in your system tray. To bring Launchy into view, Hold the alt key and tap the space bar. Launchy uses a clever system where you type in part of the name of the program or file your looking for and Launchy "narrows down" your search letter by letter. When it's found, simply click the file to execute or hit Enter/Return. To make Launchy disappear into the background once more, simply hit the escape key.

Launchy has a genuine use, It doesn't have much resource footprint (won't slow your computer down) and you WILL use it. One thing it's not is a gimmick.
