Download CPU-Z, the very clever TINY little tool that requires no installation, simply load the program from its location. Provides very detailed information on every aspect of the CPU, stepping, cache, timings, multiplier, volt core and revision. Also provides detailed information about the chipset and memory, including memory timings, dividers and clock speeds. To top it all off it even comes with a Latency benchmark separate file. Excellent!

CPU-Z is very useful for over clocking as it provides low level information on the hardware, Windows itself has been known to provide inaccurate information. The Data CPU-Z provides is always accurate and gives an invaluable insight into the causes of instability due to your latest over clock.

TIP: Log everything CPU-Z provides in either a screenshot with a brief description in the title or using CPU-Z's built in log file saving feature. This helps a lot when you need to recall that "sweet spot" over clock and you've forgotten those settings.
